Our November walk on Friday 25th was attended by 19 people and 4 dogs on a bright, brisk day.
We did a two and a half hour walk from Km 31 on the Viñuela – Rio Gordo road towards La Zubia, a small hamlet nestling in the hills.
The track was good although we met rather a lot of traffic on the first part including a lady on horseback.
It was a “there and back” walk as the circular route would have taken all day but the scenery was variable with great views of Comares on one side and lake Viñuela and Maroma on the other.
The only bar in La Zubia we were informed, was closed, so we descended on the Camping Restaurant by Lake Viñuela and enjoyed a pleasant lunch.
The December walk scheduled for 23rd has had to be cancelled due to an event called Christmas!
We tried to reschedule it but were unable to come up with suitable dates so will do an extra long walk in January.
Have a Very Happy Christmas and if you do indulge you can always join us next year.
It’s a great way to shed those extra pounds!
Just a reminder. Due to cancellations there are still places available for our trip to the Alpujarras from 21st to 24th March, 2012
You don’t have to be a walker as there are are several interesting pueblos to visit nearby, or just come and relax, read, paint or take photographs of this beautiful area.
