 PRESS RELEASE

U3A launches 4 new Groups

The El Morche based U3A has been working hard during the summer & has announced that it will be launching 4 new Groups from the beginning of September.

As a result of interest that has been shown from inland, beyond its usual area of activity, two of the groups will be centred in Canillas de Albaida; one in Cómpeta, with the fourth opening up in Penoncillo Torrox.

In Canillas, there will be a Scrabble Group, meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at Antonios Bar in Canillas de Albaida; A Walk on the Wild Side Group, for the more adventurous walker meeting once a month on a Thursday; and finally a Meditation Group for those seeking relaxation and contemplation, to be held in Cómpeta on the second & fourth Wednesday of each month.

The fourth Group will meet in Torrox Penoncillo, and is a Craft Group, for those people who would like to explore & pursue a wide range of crafts from dressmaking to patchwork. That group will meet on the second & fourth Thursday of each month at Penoncillo Torrox.

Commenting on these new developments, U3A President – Roland Gillett – praised the work that had been done to develop these ideas into a reality, and said that he hoped they would be well supported, though it always took time for new Groups to flourish.

A meeting will be held on Wednesday 4th September at 11am in Antonios Bar in Canillas de Albaida, to formally launch these groups, and to introduce the activities of U3A more generally. Everyone is welcome to attend.
