Our first walk of the year on Friday 27th September was a coastal walk along the cliff top in the beautiful Cerro Gordo National Park.
Nine of us and three dogs set off from our meeting point at the caves in Nerja and headed east to the starting point .
We parked at the start of the old coast road and wended our way around and upwards to the Tower, where the views were breathtaking.
It was a lovely sunny day with a slight breeze – ideal walking conditions and was an easy, mostly flat walk.
We paused for photos along the route and stopped at the cliff top cafe for drinks and tapas.
From there we could see the curve of the beach in La Herradura below us and watched a black squirrel darting amongst the branches of the trees overlooking the bay.
After the walk we retired to a restaurant in Maro and had a very pleasant lunch.
There will be no walk in October as I am away, but if someone is able to lead one, please contact Maggie and Gerry.
